So you’ve decided that you want to build your outdoor boudoir photography portfolio. Maybe you’ve done one or two outdoor boudoir sessions and fell in love with the way it felt for you and your client and you want to shoot more. Maybe you’ve never done an outdoor boudoir photography session before and you are dying to try it. Or, maybe you have some amazing ideas in your head but are unsure how to bring them to life. Either way, you want to build your outdoor boudoir photography portfolio, but you’re not sure how to make it happen. Trust me, I get it.
Outdoor boudoir is a beautiful and fun way to express yourself, reclaim your sexuality in a way that is authentic to you, and enjoy nature at the same time. One common question women have is that they don’t know where they would even go for an outdoor boudoir session. If you’ve ever been intrigued by the thought of doing an outdoor boudoir session but have no idea where to even start, don’t sweat it!
As the bride-to-be, a bridal boudoir shoot is the perfect way to capture a moment when your wedding agenda might feel more like a whirlwind. The best part? It’s self care that keeps giving back. Here’s why booking a bridal boudoir shoot is just about the greatest wedding gift you can give YOURSELF (and your partner too).
Bridal Boudoir has become vert popular over recent years, as more and more Brides are choosing to surprise their partners with a boudoir photo album on their wedding day. Here are our best tips for planning a bridal boudoir session, what to wear and bring, how to keep it a secret from your partner, and when to gift your bridal boudoir album to your new spouse.
For Asya’s snowy maternity session, I wanted to give her both those beautiful outdoor winter maternity photos as well as some tasteful and timeless intimate maternity photos. First, we rented the gorgeous Jorgensen House, one of our favorite BNBs in historic downtown Juneau Alaska. Then we added this amazing dress from Leah Maria Couture to the client closet, which fit her perfectly. For the cherry on top, we hired the very talented Devyn Reece to do her hair and makeup. After staying nice and warm inside the BNB, we travelled outdoors into the snow (note that if you book a session with me, we will inevitably end up in the wild). They pulled up their xtratuf boots, snuggled up to stay warm, and caught snowflakes on their tongues.
I don’t know about you, but I love trying new things, especially when it comes to boudoir sessions. For Krystal Rose’s boudoir shoot, we busted out a couple of new props that I have been dying to try. First we played with the Vintage Playboy Magazines that I acquired, all authentic 70s, 80s, and 90s vintage playboy magazine. Then, she tried on the very swanky rose gold and black leather hand cuffs and equestrian collar I acquired from luxury lingerie brand Honey Birdette. Also, check out this Boudoir Video from partner vendor, videographer Kris Kross Creatives, which is now available as an add-on to any boudoir session. Take a look!
