Winter engagement session for same sex couple Sarah and Michelle
Sarah and Michelle
I am so excited to photograph Sarah and Michelle’s wedding this summer. I knew immediately when I talked with them on the phone for the first time they would be such a fun couple. But, for now, I will settle on sharing their winter engagement session. Sarah and Michelle have been together for a long time but are finally tying the knot in 2024 at Orca Point Lodge, which is located on Colt Island outside of Juneau, Alaska. Michelle grew up in Juneau but together they live in Ohio, however they come to Juneau twice a year to visit Michelle’s family.
The entire week before their engagement session, Juneau was a rainy, windy mess. We were all nervous about the weather on the day of their session but it cleared up and it was a gorgeous day. We started their engagement session by walking the beach. It was cold out, so occasional stops for hand-warming were necessary. Then we ventured through the snow covered trees and snags to a little clearing where they danced to The Rose by Bette Midler. Eventually, they snuggled up in a warm blanket on the beach to watch the ducks fly by.
