Mary and Samuel are a fun-loving, adventurous couple who find joy in everything that they do. They also have big hearts and are very close with their families. These were their biggest priorities when planning how their wedding day would look and feel. They knew they wanted their closest family members to be a part of their day, but they also wanted something meaningful and adventurous, so a big traditional wedding was not right for them. Although they currently live in North Carolina, Samuel was born in Anchorage, so Alaska felt like the perfect combination of adventure and home. Kaira and Dan’s Girdwood waterfall elopement was anything but traditional. Two days before tying the knot, they hit road the with their closest friends, for a pre-wedding road trip. They started from their hometown of Fairbanks and drove the Parks Highway to Girdwood, to ultimately elope at Virgin Creek Falls. Virgin Creek Falls is a beautiful waterfall nestled within the towering trees of the Chugach National Forest. When Kaira and Dan said their “I Dos” under Virgin Creek Falls, the only words I can use to describe it are: Moody, ethereal, and magical.
