The Perfect Backdrop
Picture this, pledging your love to your person on the top of a mountain in Alaska. You are engulfed by stunning views of the nearby peaks and the blue-green water in the channel below, sparkling in the sunshine. In the distance, you can see boats floating down the channel and paragliders taking to the skies. Birds chirp, and bees lazily buzz around the nearby wildflowers. The smell of earth and a faint hint of wildflowers wafting in the breeze. It is just the two of you at this moment together. What could be better? There are many beautiful locations to plan an elopement in and around Juneau. But for the stunning mountaintop views Greg and Pam were looking for, Mount Roberts was the ideal backdrop for this Alaska Mountaintop Elopement.
Pam + Greg’s Story
Pam and Greg traveled from Huntington Beach, California, to Juneau for their Alaska mountaintop elopement. A few hours after Pam and Greg got engaged, the worldwide pandemic was announced. After waiting two long years, it was time for these two to get hitched! Before Greg met Pam, he lived in Alaska and wanted to share that part of his life with his soon-to-be wife, Pam. They planned to jump on a cruise ship and have their dream wedding day in Juneau, one of the ports the ship stopped in. Wedding and honeymoon all in one trip!
Getting Married on Mount Roberts
There are two ways to get to the top of Mount Roberts, hiking the Mount Roberts trail or taking the Goldbelt Tram. Both options offer exquisite views of Juneau, the surrounding mountains, and the Gastineau Channel. Greg and Pam opted to take the tram and hiked the last 15 minutes to the top of Mount Roberts, past Father Brown Cross, to the platform where the two recited their vows. With just their officiant, myself, and nature as their witnesses, Greg and Pam said I Do! After capturing some stunning photos and their first dance at the top of Mount Roberts, we made our way back to the tram and down to the port. We could not have asked for a better day for an Alaska mountaintop elopement.
